Intellectual Learning
The Performing Arts Department is firmly dedicated to a two-fold mission. First, we will offer educational opportunities in Music to all students of the Western Treasure Valley. Second, we will support the mission statement of Treasure Valley Community College by providing opportunities for cultural growth to area residents through quality vocal and instrumental performance.
Students at Treasure Valley Community College enjoy the opportunity to perform in various choral, instrumental, and Community ensembles, including the Treasure Valley Symphony and the Treasure Valley Chorale.
The Performing Arts Center is committed to producing and presenting performances by our students and faculty, as well as by local, regional and national artists to bring quality and educational art to the student body and the community.
You, the audience, are a critical part of our student's learning. We extend our heartfelt thanks for your partnership, support and enthusiasm.
A wide array of music courses includes fundamentals of music; music literature; rock history; and private study in various genres. Applied music courses include brass, guitar, percussion, piano, strings, woodwinds, and voice, and more.
Performances & Events
We offer many opportunities to hear live music performances and orchestrate competitive performance festivals for students, faculty and many others. Please join us and support local musicians by attending one of our many events!
Box Office
The TVCC Box Office opens for events in the Performing Arts Center 45 minutes before the beginning of all performances. If you would like more information outside of those hours, please contact us at 541-881-5950.Private Lessons
Treasure Valley Community College offers a variety of Private Applied Lessons for college credit in vocal and instrumental performance. Students 16 years of age or older are eligible to take private lessons for credit. There is a fee which pays your instructor in addition to the basic credit and universal fee cost which is applied when registering.
The Fine and Performing Arts department at TVCC boasts talented, professional instructors that will help students advance in musical studies. A few of the applied instrument lessons TVCC offers include: Piano, Voice, Guitar, Clarinet, Strings, Basson & Saxophone, Organ, Percussion, Violin & Fiddle to name a few.
