TVCC to offer AAS degrees for Advanced Energy Systems and Facilities Maintenance Specialist

ONTARIO, Ore. (April 2, 2026) — Treasure Valley Community College is proud to announce the addition of two new Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree programs!

Students at TVCC will soon have the following new two-year AAS programs available:

  • Advanced Energy Systems – designed to meet the evolving demands of the sustainable energy sector, this program provides advanced instruction in renewable energy technologies with emphasis on system design, integration, and maintenance.
  • Facilities Maintenance Specialist – developed in collaboration with industry professionals, this program meets current workforce demands across commercial, healthcare, educational, and industrial sectors. Students gain practical knowledge in essential maintenance systems including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC/R, and building automation.

“We are thrilled to offer these new programs, continuing to expand opportunities for our students to ensure they are ready for the next step in their professional careers,” said TVCC President Dr. Dana M. Young. “Industry needs from the workforce continue to evolve, and we will ensure our students continue to evolve to meet those needs.”

Both programs will have financial assistance available through federal and state programs, as well as through TVCC, the TVCC Foundation, private businesses, and more. 

Adding new programs support’s TVCC’s stated goals of attracting new student populations and fortifying workplace vitality, as outlined in the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan.
