Holiday Greetings from TVCC!

Warm Holiday Greetings from TVCC!
As the fall quarter concludes on December 12, students will have finished their finals and head into a well-deserved winter break, which runs from December 15 through January 4.
As we enter the holiday season, please also note that the College and its centers will be closed December 22–26 and again on January 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.
We want to remind everyone that Winter Term begins Monday, January 5, 2026. Looking ahead to the new term, TVCC is excited to offer one tuition-free class through our Try Out TVCC campaign. This opportunity is open to new and returning students who want to explore college and see if it’s the right fit. Students must register by December 31 to participate, and some restrictions apply, so be sure to visit the Try Out TVCC webpage https://www.tvcc.cc/trytvcc/index.cfm to learn more and schedule time with an advisor.
This season also brings reason to celebrate beyond academics. TVCC is incredibly proud of our Volleyball Team for capturing the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) championship—the first in college history. Their dedication and hard work have brought home a truly historic victory. To honor these student athletes, we invite the community to join us during the women’s basketball game against Linn-Benton Community College on December 5 at 5:00 pm, where the volleyball players will be recognized at halftime. The celebration continues on December 6, when the team will appear on a float in the Winter Wonderland Parade. We encourage everyone to come out, show your support, and share in this milestone achievement.
To add to the festive spirit, our Light Up the Season display has returned to the TVCC fountain area and is brighter than ever. Visitors can tune in to 98.5 FM from their vehicles or enjoy a stroll through the courtyard to take in the lights and music. Convenient parking is available between the Weese Building and the Meyer-McLean Theater, making it easy to stop by and enjoy a bit of holiday cheer.
As winter weather approaches, we encourage everyone to stay informed, as conditions can sometimes affect travel and college operations. While TVCC strives to remain open, closures may occur due to severe weather or emergencies. When an announcement states that “Treasure Valley Community College is closed” or “Treasure Valley Community College classes are canceled,” the announcement will identify the specific campus or center affected.
Announcements will be made promptly via the TVCC website, campus alert system, email, and local radio and television stations. Decisions for day classes are typically announced before 6:00 a.m., and decisions for evening classes are usually shared by 3:00 p.m. Because weather varies across our region, some centers may open or close independently of the main campus, so please check updates carefully.
From all of us at Treasure Valley Community College, we wish you a joyful holiday season. We hope everyone is able to rest, refresh, and enjoy meaningful time with family and friends during the break.
Dr. Dana M. Young, President
